Pickup Truck Fatally Hits Teen Pushing Disabled Car
Anaheim – A 17-year-old boy was killed after a speeding pickup truck struck him while pushing his family’s disabled vehicle Tuesday night, reports said.
According to witnesses, a teen and an adult male were pushing a disabled car around 8:15 p.m. at the 8700 block of Cerritos Avenue when a Honda pickup truck slammed their vehicle from behind, reports added.
The adult male was able to jump to safety, but the teen was caught in between the car and the pickup. Reports said that the teen’s leg was amputated at the scene.
The teen, adult male, and a woman, who was steering the disabled vehicle, were rushed to Harbor Medical Center. The 17-year-old boy, identified as Daniela Barbosa [sic], later died from his injuries, reports furthered.
No charges were filed against the pickup truck driver.
Authorities are still determining whether or not excessive speeding of the pickup caused the accident.
