Tanker -Truck Fire Leads to 60 Freeway Closure
Personal Injury Law - State News December 14, 2011
Montebello - Authorities have shut down the eastbound lanes of 60 Freeway when a tanker truck carrying about 8,000 gallons of gasoline mysteriously caught fire, the California Highway Patrol (CHP) said.
Reports said the incident occurred near Paramount Boulevard on the eastbound lane of the freeway. The truck driver and his passenger were able to escape as the truck caught fire.
Montebello Fire Department officers said the cause of the fire was still unknown. But police officers said it could be caused by electrical or brake problems as this happens frequently in rig and truck accidents.
The fire was put under control later but the freeway remained closed for Caltrans inspection.
