Sacramento – The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has begun investigations into the recent airport incident involving a JetBlue airplane from Long Beach that caught fire during a hard landing in Sacramento.

Initial reports said the plane apparently had trouble with its brakes and four tires blew out and burned during the landing. The accident occurred at around 12:50 pm.

Authorities said at least 15 passengers sustained minor injuries in the accident. All passengers of the plane used the emergency slide to get out of the burning aircraft.

Rescuers from the Sacramento Fire Department and the Sacramento County Airport System Aircraft Rescue Firefighters immediately arrived at the scene and extinguished the fire.

All 87 passengers of the plane were taken to the airport terminal by bus.
