Disney Hotel Workers Decry Lack of Employment Contract

Employment and Labor Law (State News) July 13, 2010

Anaheim – Several hundred hotel workers and supporters have gathered at the Anaheim Convention Center to protest contract dispute with Disney, reports mentioned.

Reports said the union charged alleged lack of employment contract for many hotel workers and to ask for employees’ health care benefits from Disney management.

Some 2, 1000 hotel workers complained that they have been working for about two-and-a-half years without a contract. Many of the workers feel insecure about the lack of employment contract and finding a more stable job in difficult times.

On the other hand, Disney management has urged the union and the workers to return to the negotiating table instead of protesting.
