Anaheim – At least two people were treated for serious injuries when their vehicle was hit by a train at a rail crossing Tuesday morning, authorities said.
The unidentified men, who appeared to be in their 20’s, were taken to UC Irvine Medical Center to be treated for their serious injuries after their vehicle collided with a freight train around 7:30 am at Orangethorpe and Tustin Avenues.
Reports indicate that the men were riding a BMW on a road next to the tracks when they turned into the path of an approaching train. Their vehicle was pushed into a power pole because of the impact.
Firefighters had to extricate the passenger from the heavily damaged vehicle for about 30 minutes.
