Chrysler to Recall 24,000 Cars Over Defective Brakes

Personal Injury Law - January 19, 2010

Detroit - Carmaker giant Chrysler Group LLC said it will recall more than 24,000 vehicles which may have a defective brake system caused by improperly installing the brake pedal pin during the manufacturing process.

In a statement, Chrysler said the recall will cover 2010 model year Dodge Avenger and Nitro, Chrysler Sebring, Commander and Grand Cherokee SUVs, Jeep Liberty, and 2009-2010 model year Dodge Ram trucks.

“The potential defect may lead to brake failure without warning which may result to crash. With this, a safety recall is expected to take effect before January ends”, the company said.

Meanwhile, the carmaker giant has not yet received injuries or accidents related to the defective brake system.
