SeaWorld Animal Trainer Bitten by Sea Lion
Personal Injury – Local News June 15, 2009
San Diego – An animal trainer working for SeaWorld was bitten in the leg by a sea lion during a performance and was hospitalized for minor injuries.
Park spokesperson Dave Koontz said they will determine the causes of the incident to prevent similar situations in the future. He remarked that the bite was just a “nip”.
The park however announced that all sea lion performances will continue as planned although officials promised to take the matter seriously to avoid further animal bite incidents.
The injured animal trainer is expected to return to work soon, officials added.
