Sacramento – Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger’s private jet avoided what could have been a tragic plane accident after the pilot reported smoke coming from the cockpit, prompting him to make an emergency landing in Van Nuys airport.
According to a statement released by the governor’s press secretary, the plane was about 10 minutes away from Santa Monica Airport when the pilot made the quick landing.
The Los Angeles Fire Department met the jet on the runway while the governor disembarked the plane and traveled home.
No one was reported injured in the incident.
