California Brokers Say Selling Your Business is Possible in Tough Times

San Jose, CA – Members of the California Association of Business Brokers (CABB) have expressed optimism for business sales within the state. Ron Hottes, president of CABB and president of Business Team LA and Business Team SoCal said a large number of businesses would continue to change hands, as most baby boomers have reached retirement age.

The group also believed that in the next ten years, an estimated 65% of all small and medium-sized businesses would be put on sale. However, less than a third of these businesses will actually sell, the brokers stressed.

The group said they are willing to help people sell their businesses, which they believe should be taken seriously by people. Statistics show that it usually takes about six months to one year to sell a business.

“Selling a business is a major financial decision, often the biggest of someone’s life,” said Hottes. “It’s a mistake to go it alone.”

The CABB is a professional trade organization concerned with business brokerage, merger and acquisition in California.
